Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school... again. And that's the least of his troubles. Lately, mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. And worse, he's angered a few of them. Zeus' master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy and his friends have just ten days to find and return Zeus' stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.
I don't know what can i say about such a book good which is never told before. It is amazing, has great language, a great world and characters.
Percy Jackson is a child of God, Greek Gods, they are not dead. They are real. They live and they make children with human females and males. Their children called demi-gods and when they turn about 11, 12 their power draw monsters out and attack them, because of this fact there is half-blood camp. They learn to survive and fight and deal with monsters of dark.
There is three major Greek gods: Zeus ( God of sky, father of gods and humans), Poseidon (God of sea) and Hades (God of Underworld). When Zeus's famous lighting bolt is stolen and war is inevitable, one must find it and gave back to its owner. Percy Jackson, Grover and Annabeth go to a quest to retrieve it.
“If my life is going to mean anything, I have to live it myself.”
The Lightning Thief is such an amazing book that it draws you, with no time you find yourself absorbed in and crazy about the events. Riordan makes a mit reality and forces you to accept it, enter it and fight with characters. You feel their pain, hope and fight.
“What if it lines up like it did in the Trojan War ... Athena versus Poseidon?"The thing i most like about the is Medusa dead-end. Even after you assume you are done with her, she pops up. The end of the book is very good too. I just cannot wait to read second book and of course other books too. It maybe listed as children book but you can sense that there is so much about this book to explore. It is not just that Greek mythology such a vast subject, it is the shaping of it gives most of the excitement and fluency.
"I don't know. But I just know that I'll be fighting next to you."
"Why?"
"Because you're my friend, Seaweed Brain. Any more stupid questions?”
Dont think about and read it, if you are interested in mythology you will love it more! It teaches you also.
I also found myself not remembering the names of mythological characters,it is great mind exercise!
